Joe Kinnear will be looking for his first win as temporary boss of Newcastle when they face West Brom in the Premier League tonight.

Ronaldo says he is prepared to agree a contract with Flamengo after admitting he now wants to finish his career in Brazil.

The striker has not payed since rupturing a tendon in his left knee since in February and has been recovering in his homeland after leaving Milan over the summer.

He is eager to sign with Flamengo after previously being linked with moves to Manchester City and Paris St Germain.

“The doors are getting opened and I am sure that I will be working in 2009,” Ronaldo, who has been training with Flamengo, told SporTV.

“I want to do a pre-season work from the start.

“Flamengo is my favourite team, they are in pole position, but I don’t want to play there just because it’s my dream.

“I have to be totally fit to be able to play for Flamengo.

“Despite that I had conversations with important teams like PSG and Manchester City, if I could stay in Brazil it would be great as I have been in Europe for 16 years.”
