Aston Villa, who were only in action on Monday against Newcastle, now travel to the Czech Republic to face Slavia Prague in the UEFA Cup – Thurs 19:45.

Brazilian striker Ronaldo has revealed that he turned down an opportunity to play for Italy’s Siena on Wednesday.

“There is no chance he will play for Siena,” Ronaldo’s agent, Fabiano Farah, told the GloboEsporte Web site.

“Everyone would like to have a player like Ronaldo on his team and we appreciate all the interest, but with all due respect to Siena, after nine months recovering (from a knee injury) Ronaldo cannot play for a team that is struggling to not fall (to the relegation zone.) He has to play for a competitive team.”

Siena currently lie 12th in the 20-team Serie A.

The 32-year-old Ronaldo hasn’t played since he ruptured a tendon in his left knee in a Serie A match in February.

The three-time world player of the year told Brazil’s Globo TV on Monday that his career in Europe might be over even though some top clubs have shown an interest in him.

Ronaldo said he had “very interesting talks with Manchester City,” and that Paris Saint-Germain “has been showing a lot of interest,” but his first choice will be Flamengo, Brazil’s most popular club.
