Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney looks set to make a rapid return to action.
Rooney was expected to be out for another month after fracturing a bone in his left foot on the opening day of the Premier League season.
However, reports suggest he could be back as early as this weekend after a new x-ray showed his recovery was well ahead of schedule.
There is a chance Rooney could be on the bench for United’s meeting with former club Everton on Saturday.
