Milan continued their serene march to the Serie A title – a 3-1 win against Parma leaving them ten points clear of second-placed Roma.

Jon Dahl Tomasson scored twice and Shevchenko got the third as Milan extended their lead as second-placed Roma’s match with Lqazio was called off due to violence off the pitch.

Match officials stopped the Rome derby, poised at 0-0 after 51 minutes, following crowd trouble. Rumors had been circulating the Stadio Olimpico that a child had been killed by a police car outside the ground. Police denied the claim and the match will be re-arranged and completed at a later date.

Juventus stay in third after a 0-0 stalemate against Udinese.

Elsewhere, Bologna moved away from the relegation places with a 3-0 win over Roberto Baggio’s Brescia. Before the match Baggio received an award for scoring his 200th Serie goal. Tare, Nervo and Signori were the scorers.

Ancona stay rooted to the bottom after losing 0-2 at home to sixth-placed Inter. Both the goals came in the second-half through Recoba and Adani.
