The Football Union of Russia have delayed announcement their new coach until April 15.

A decision was expected to be made today, with Dutchman Guus Hiddink widely tipped to become the next national coach, but the FUR have decided to delay the announcement.

“We’ll announce the new head coach’s name on April 15,” confirmed FUR president Vitali Mutko.

“There were several coaches on the initial list, which was then shortened to two.

“Both of them accepted our offer after talks but now there is only one coach on the list.

“I can’t name him as it will make the talks longer. All I can say is that we’ve come to an agreement with this coach.

“The contract will be signed for two and a half years.”
