Mexican defender Carlos Salcido is flying into England for talks with Fulham over a possible move.

Fulham manager Mark Hughes has confirmed he is hoping to sign Salcido, though any deal for the left-back.

Salcido, 30 appears to be a possible replacement for Paul Konchesky who has been targeted by former Fulham manager Roy Hodgson, now in charge at Liverpool.

While Hughes is “hopeful” of signing Salcido, he would not confirm that Konchesky is heading out of Craven Cottage.

“We have made enquiries,” Hughes said of the PSV Eindhoven player. “He is a player I am interested in and we are hopeful it might be concluded.

“We are looking to have quality in all positions. Left back is a position we are a little light in. It is not a foregone conclusion that Paul Konchesky goes because we are looking to bring someone else in.”
