Simon Hopper thinks Chelsea are worth laying when they travel to Bolton tonight – see his full preview here

Palermo have confirmed that Massimo Maccarone is to join Sampdoria after being placed on the transfer list last week.

The striker has struggled to hold down a first-team place at the Sicilian club since arriving on a three-year deal in the summer.

Palermo have agreed to let Maccarone leave as they felt they had enough attacking options at their disposal.

Serie A strugglers Cesena were the first to express an interest but it is Sampdoria who have now won the chase for Maccarone’s signature.

He has previously been on the books of Empoli and Cesena as well as Middlesbrough in England.
