Lionel Scaloni says he is enjoying life at West Ham, but admits he has been taken aback by the pace of The Premiership.

The Argentinian international joined The Hammers on loan from Deportivo La Coruna for the rest of the season during the January transfer window.

“I am delighted, it’s a very impressive experience,” he said.

“I left Depor only because of footballing reasons, if it has been about the fans I would never leave.

“It was a very hard, but necessary decision.”

The 27-year-old made his Hammers debut in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Sunderland.

However, he has been surprised by the speed of the game in England.

“We have an objective and that is to get in Europe,” he continued.

“West Ham are a team with great tradition in The Premiership.

“I felt good on my debut, I played at full back and the only thing that troubled me was the speed of this league.”
