Schalke 04 have appointed Ralf Rangnick as their their new coach to replace Jupp Heynckes who was sacked two weeks ago.
His first match in charge of his new club is on Thursday when Schalke play Liepajas Metalurgs in Latvia in the UEFA Cup.
Heynckes was sacked after Schalke lost three of their opening four matches in the Bundesliga. They currently lie 16th in the table.
