Schalke are still interested in signing Chelsea’s German international defender Robert Huth.
Huth has vowed to stay at Chelsea, but Schalke are aware that the 21-year-old defender needs first team football if he is to secure a place in Germany’s 2006 World Cup squad. Germany manager Jurgen Klinsmann has told Huth that he must command a regular spot at club level to be considered for the national team.
“We are looking for a younger player who already has international experience,” said Muller.
“The main question is whether we can persuade him (Huth) to move to the Bundesliga.”
