Bayern Munich forward Jan Schlaudraff is to join Bundesliga rivals Hannover next season.

Bayern Munich executive manager Uli Hoeness confirmed last week that Schlaudraff could leave the club after a difficult first season in which he has rarely been used by coach Ottmar Hitzfeld.

The 24-year-old has now signed a four-year deal with Hannover and will hope to revive a career that has stalled at the Allianz Arena.

“We have been looking to bolster our strike force and in Jan have found the perfect man for our team,” Hannover sport director Christian Hochstatter told the club’s official website.

Coach Dieter Hecking, who previously worked with Schlaudraff at Aachen, was also pleased with the signing.

“I know Jan very well of course and I’m convinced that his style of play will help us,” he commented.
