Paul Scholes has been charged with violent behaviour after his clash with Middlesbrough’s Doriva earlier this month.
Scholes and the Brazilian both appeared to raise hands during Boro’s 3-2 win at Old Trafford.
Referee Paul Durkin missed the the incident so both players escaped punishment at the time. However, after studying video evidence, e the FA has charged Scholes but not Doriva.
The England midfielder has been given until March 5 to respond.
