Coach Morten Olsen believes that Denmark’s 3-0 defeat to England was not a fair reflection on the way his side had played.

First-half g oals from Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen and Emile Heskey gave England an easy passage to the last eight.

Olsen, though, was happy with Denmark’s performance.

“I think we did better than we have than at most other times in this competition,” he said. “We were very unfortunate to go behind early on.

“The problem was that we did not manage to score from the opportunities we created. We controlled the game and enjoyed the lions share of possession but England scored the goals.”
