Liverpool make the trip to Preston in the FA Cup this Saturday and that will be their first meeting since 1962.

Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna has dismissed reports claiming he is eager to join Manchester City in the January transfer window.

The Spain midfielder is thought to be on the shopping list of boss Mark Hughes as the Premier League side look to spend big in January.

However, the 32-year-old insists he is only focused on life at El Madrigal and is unaware of any interest from City.

“I know nothing about everything that is being said and I have not spoken to anyone at Manchester City,” Senna said in Marca.

“I have read the same things as everyone else and I do not know where it has come from. I only want to think about Villarreal and helping the team to do well.

“I have read about huge sums of money, but the only thing I want to focus on is playing for my team.

“It has all surprised me. I have never said anything to anyone about this and I am calm.”
