Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna has confirmed that he hopes to complete a move to Manchester United.
“I really hope they can agree a deal so that I can leave for Manchester,” Senna told reporters on Thursday.
“But if it doesn’t happen I will not be upset if I have to stay at Villarreal.
“I’m not worried because I’ve got a year’s contract left with Villarreal and whatever happens with Manchester United I will be fine.”
Villarreal said this week they would sell to United if the Premier League side made a good enough offer for the 30-year-old central midfielder.
Senna was a member of Spain’s World Cup squad and played an important role in Villarreal’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season.
