Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has rubbished speculation claiming that he has agreed to let Daniel Alves join Barcelona.

Barca were reported to have offered €22million and Giovani Dos Santos, but del Nido has laughed off the reports.

“For €25million I will send them Daniel’s boots so that they give them to a full-back in their youth team,” he told the Spanish media.

“He is a truly great football player, perhaps the best right-back in the world at the moment, and my dream is for him to stay here for the four years that he signed up for.

“Last year there was this debate too and in many paper it was published that Daniel had already been sold by Sevilla.”

Several Sevilla players have been linked with moves away from the club, but del Nido insists that all transfer talk can wait until the season has finished.

“We are going to let the players focus on playing for Sevilla now and when the season finishes then we shall decide which players will be sold and which will be signed,” he continued.

“We know that many pages of newspaper, many hours of radio and many minutes on television will be filled otherwise.

“I do not want to continue to talk about all these transfer stories because we want the squad to be concentrating on the league only and that’s why I, as president, have nipped these things in the bud.

“When the time comes we will know who is staying and who is going, although nobody will leave if we do not feel that it is right for the club.

“But for the moment, Sevilla will not listen to offers for any players while we are still playing for a possible Champions League place.”
