Feyenoord striker Eby Smolarek has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old had been signed by former Feyenoord coach Bert van Marwijk as he seeks to avert the threat of relegation.
“It wasn’t a question of the money but the fact that Smolarek will gain vital match practice at the highest level,” said Feyenoord sport director Mark Wotte.
