Cagliari coach Nedo Sonetti, who only took up his post a month ago, has resigned and his predecessor has been recalled.
Coach Marco Giampaolo, who arrived at the club at the start of the season was fired on November 13 but now the club have performed a u-turn and decided to give him his job back.
A Cagliari club statement said: “The club has decide to recall Marco Giampaolo. This morning’s training was run by the backroom staff while we wait for his arrival.”
Sonetti confirmed he had decided to resign without giving further details on the reason.
Sonetti had already coached Cagliari for two previous spells, between 2001 and 2002, then from 2005 to 2006.
