Bid director Danny Jordan has said he remains confident that South Africa can beat off its African/Arab rivals to win hosting rights to the 2010 World Cup.

FIFA’s executive committee must decide in May between the South Africans and rival candidacies from Egypt, Morocco, Libya and Tunisia.

Jordaan, who led the South Africans’ unsuccessful bid for 2006, said: “Nothing is certain but we are very confident – even if the other four unite to support one bid.”
