Marseille have signed highly-rated young Russian striker Dmitri Sytchev on a five-year deal from Spartak Moscow.

Sytchev, 19, is still discussing terms but the clubs have reached agreement for an undisclosed fee.

Marseille general manager, Alain Perrin was confident negotiations would be completed in time for Sytchev to make his debut against Lyon on Friday.

“He will be eligible to appear against Lyon,” said Perrin

Sytchev walked out on Spartak in August, earning himself a four-month ban in the process.

The striker, who excelled for Russia in the World Cup finals, trained with Dynamo Kyiv during his suspension and the Ukainian club are threatening to sue the player, claiming he signed a preliminary contract with them.
