Carlos Tevez has said that he does not feel guilty about the ongoing feud between West Ham and Sheffield United over his role in the Blades’ relegation in 2007.
The striker, now at Manchester United, helped the Hammers avoid relegation during the 2006/07 season but an arbitration panel ruled that the Argentine should not have been allowed to play in England because the London club did not own his regustration.
As a result, the Blades are now seeking a compensation fee, believed to be in the region of £50million and are due to return to the High Court in March to decide upon a figure.
“As far as I am concerned I did nothing wrong,” Tevez told Sky Sports News.
“I was not the person in charge of all the paperwork.
“I did my job on the pitch and that is where the matter ends for me.”
Tevez also said that he feels the hectic festive period will affect Chelsea and expects the older members of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s squad to struggle.
“I think they (Chelsea) are a great team,” he said. “But I also think that as it is for me, at 24 years of age, it is sometimes very hard to recover and play Sunday and Wednesday.
“I would imagine that for some of the Chelsea guys that are much older it would be even harder.
“I think that the intensive Christmas schedule will take its toll on them because they have some great players but not so much strength in depth.”
