Despite his agent cllaiming his position at Bolton was secure, Stig Tofting’s future at the club looks in jeopardy following yesterday’s conviction for assault, with Bolton boss Sam Allardyce admitting that nothing has been decided.

Tofting was jailed for four months yesterday following the assault conviction. Tofting is considering appealing against the sentence for the incident at a cafe in Copenhagen in June.

“Stig only got back this morning so we have not had a chance to talk to him yet,” Allardyce told the BBC.

His agent, Karsten Aabrink, claimed Bolton were definitely standing by Tofting.

“Bolton have supported Stig,’ said Aabrink. ‘They are standing by their man and we’re pleased by that.”
