Torino have sacked manager Walter Novellino and and look set to appoint former boss Gianni De Biasi as his replacement.

De Biasi, who spent two separate periods in charge of Torinobetween 2005 and 2007, will now return to Italy after leaving La Liga strugglers Levante.

Torino will hold a press conference on Wednesday afternoon to officially announce the managerial changes.

Former Sampdoria coach Novellino replaced De Biasi before the start of the season but has struggled of late and fans demonstrated at Tuesday’s training session following a 3-0 defeat at Genoa on Sunday.

Torino are four points clear of the relegation zone with five games left having looked safe just a few weeks ago.
