Roma captain Francesco Totti has confirmed that he could make a return to the Italy squad.

The 33-year-old retired from the international game after the World Cup win in 2006, although he did not officially confirm it until the following year.

Now after frequent calls from the media, his club manager Claudio Ranieri and even his wife, Totti has admitted he would answer a call from national coach, Marcello Lippi, if it came.

“It depends on coach (Marcello Lippi’s) choices and my condition, but I owe (Lippi) a lot,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Totti currently has 53 caps for Italy, scoring nine goals in the process.
