Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni named a provisional 23-man squad for the Euro 2004 finals starting without Filippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino.

Milan striker Inzaghi was considered a fitness douybt while in-foirm Gilardino has been overlooked in favour of Juventus striker Marco Di Vaio

Italy are in Group C with Denmark, Sweden and Bulgaria.
