Philippe Troussier is expected to be confirmed as the new coach of Morocco’s national soccer within the next 24 hours.

“He is the person we have chosen and with whom we are still negotiating,” a spokesman at the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) told Reuters on Wednesday.

“Negotiations are on-going but a decision has been put back to tomorrow (Thursday).”

The 50-year-old Frenchman will replace Badou Ezaki who resigned earlier this month after Morocco failed to qualify for next year’s World Cup finals in Germany.

Troussier has plenty of coaching experience at international level, having previously been in charge of the Ivory Coast, Nigeria, South Africa, Japan, Qatar and his native France.
