UEFA Cup holders Sevilla have been handed a relatively straightforward draw for the group stage of the competition.

The Spanish side were grouped with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, Czech league leaders Slovan Liberec, Swiss league leaders Grasshoppers and Portugal’s Braga in Group C.

Two former winners, Bayer Leverkusen and Tottenham Hotspur, meet in a tough-looking Group B along with Club Bruges, Besiktas and Dinamo Bucharest.

Arguably the toughest group of the lot is Group H, which comprises Newcastle, Celta Vigo, Fenerbahce, Palermo and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The top three teams from each group will progress through to the knockout stages.

The 24 qualifiers will be joined by the eight clubs who finish third in their Champions League groups.

There are four matches per club in each group, with two at home and two away against different opposition.
