Serhiy Rebrov, Oleh Luzhny both of whom were expected to start against Spain in Ukraine’s UEFA EURO 2004 qualifier against Spain on Saturday, have withdrawn through injury.

The pair, along with Hennadiy Zubov have been ruled out of a game the Ukraine must win if they are to take over the leadership of Group 6.

Striker Rebrov suffered a calf injury in training, while, captain Luzhny, has been hit by a recurrence of an old ankle injury. Zubovhas a groin injury.

Coach Leonid Buryak said: “The loss of those players is very serious for us. Rebrov has been in good form in Turkey ever since moving to Turkey from England. As for Luzhny, he is the captain and the most experienced player we have.”
