Contrary to earlier reports Manchester United are attempting to set up a two-week trial for American teenager Freddy Adu.
The club initially dismissed reports that the 17-year-old striker, who plays Major League Soccer for DC United, would visit Old Trafford.
However, a spokesman for the club confirmed on Thursday that United were trying to sort out arrangements to bring Adu over to Old Trafford.
Adu has also been linked with Chelsea and could be available for transfer in January, providing a fee can be agreed with MLS, who own his registration.
Adu has been with DC United for three years, having joined them at the age of 14.
