Manchester United wingers Ryan Giggs and Christiano Ronaldo were fined and reprimanded by the Football Association, but both escaped bans for their part in a fracas during a league game against Arsenal.

Giggs and Ronaldo were found guilty of improper conduct and fined £7,500 ($12,930) and £4,000 respectively. The size of the finesreflected their peripheral role in the incidents which casme at the end of September’s ill-tempered clash.

Four Arsenal players – Patrick Vieira, Martin Keown, Ray Parlour and Lauren – received suspensions totalling nine games for their role in the trouble. The club and several of their players were also fined a total of £275,000.
