According to sources in Spain, Real Madrid have won the race for Dutch international Mark van Bommel.
The PSV midfielder is out of contract in the summer and a host of clubs have been linked with him.
Spanish daily AS claims that when Barcelona asked about van Bommel earlier this month, the reply they got was that he had already agreed to join arch-rivals Madrid.
Neither side will confirm the deal, as they are officially not allowed to talk terms until January, when the player bec omes a free agent.
Van Bommel was quoted in the English press over the weekend saying that he was keen on joining Spurs.
