Bert van Marwijk will succeed Marco van Basten as coach of Holland after the European Championship.
Van Marwijk, currently in charge of Feyenoord, will begin his new job in July and has signed through the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“When a chance comes like this, you have to grab it,” Van Marwijk said in a statement.
Van Marwijk will replace Marco Van Basten, a former Dutch international striker, who will step down after Euro 2008 to become the next coach at Ajax.
Van Marwijk previously coached at Borussia Dortmund in Germany and before that at Feyenoord, leading the team to the 2002 UEFA Cup title.
