Manchester United have confirmed that centre-back Nemanja Vidic will be out for two to three weeks.

Vidic, underwent a second scan on his injured left knee to determine the full extent of the damage caused on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old fell awkwardly in the first half of the 2-0 win over Roma and had to be replaced by John O’Shea.

“There is no major damage to left knee, and he will be out for 2-3 weeks.” said a United spokesman.

Vidic will miss key games with Arsenal in the Premier League and Roma in the Champions League quarter-final second leg.

The Serbian defender could also miss a potential semi-final first leg with either Barcelona or Schalke should United qualify.
