Patrick Vieira’s proposed move to Real Madrid looks more plausible today after it emerged that the Arsenal midfielder held an emergency meeting with his agent.

Vieira has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu after Real president Florentino Perez confirmed that he was interested in signing the French midfielder.

“Patrick was in this country yesterday for a two hour meeting with me. The meeting was private and the content of it remains private,” his agent Steve Kutner revealed to Sky Sports News.

According to reports, Madrid are planning to use Fernando Morientes as part of swap deal.

Morientes spent last season on loan with Monaco, helping the clu to the Champions League final.

Arsenal could be interested in signing another forward following the departures of Sylvain Wiltord and Nwanko Kanu this summer.
