Pietro Vierchowod, veteran coach of Florentia Viola, has been banned from the touchline for a week for protesting too vehemently to a referee after the 1-1 draw against Castelnuovo Garfagnana in Serie C.

Vierchowod, former Italy centre back, took over during the summer as boss of the club formed out of the ashes of the collapsed Fiorentina.

The old Fiorentina club was formerly wound up after bankruptcy at the end of last week.

Also suspended by the Italian league’s disciplinary commission were Juventus defenders Alessio Tacchinardi and Igor Tudorafter Saturday’s stormy 2-2 home draw against Parma.

Tacchinardi was banned for two games and Tudor, who scored Juve’s first goal in the 87th minute, for one game. They became in a heated squabble with the referee when Parma players tried to prevent Juve fetching the ball out of goal for a quick restart.

The skirmish saw the expulsion of Parma’s French midfielder, Sabri Lamouchi. Ironically, he was banned for only one game.
