Italian striker Christian Vieri has reiterated his desire to stay at Internazionale, despite persistent reports lnking him with a move away from the club.

Vieri was reported to be unhappy at Inter, especially with the tactics of coach Hector Cuper. Rumours of a transfer have been rife in Italy, with club president Massimo Moratti issuing a statement denying Vieri would move to Mannchester United in exchange for Ryan Giggs.

“I want to play with this club until I am 38 years of age,” said Vieri.

“I have an excellent rapport with President Massimo Moratti and his family. When I retire I hope to continue working for Inter as either a club director or a team coach.”

“At the start it was difficult because Cuper was quite distant and he had heard bad things about me,” added Vieri.

“We cleared the air and now we can laugh and joke like everyone else. I can’t comment on Ronaldo’s situation as it issomething between them.

“What I can say, is that the rapport between Cuper and the rest of the team has deepened considerably and there is mutual respect.

“The coach understood that he was dealing with a group of professionals and he proved himself to be one of the greatest managers in the world.”
