Aston Villa have confirmed they have agreed a fee with Newcastle United for Nolberto Solano.
According to reports, Villa had an initial offer of around £1m for the Peruvian international winger rejected. But the club confirmed a new undisclosed offer had been accepted by Newcastle.
Solano is a popular figure with Newcastle fans but he has fallen out of favour with Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson this season since the arrival of Lee Bowyer in the close-season.
The 29-year-old was reported to have walked out on the club after being left out of the squad for the north-east derby against Middlesbrough early this season.
