David Villa has dismissed reports claiming he might leave Valencia in order to increase his wages .

The Spain international, who was linked with a move to Chelsea last year, has admitted that he is not motivated by money and would prefer to stay at the Mestalla.

With Real Madrid said to be looking into a €60million offer next summer, Villa stated he is happy where he is.

“I am not thinking about going anywhere else,” he said.

“Every year I lose money because I know that there are clubs wanting me that would pay me more, but that does not interest me as money is not my priority.

“Winning titles with Valencia and playing at my best is my priority and also enjoying being with my team-mates, which I do here.”

Villa has been accused with becoming obsessive about goalscoring.

“I do not think I obsess,” he continued. “Am I egotistical? Well, last season I was the player who the gave the most assists in the league with 12 and I have 25 in total in the Primera.

“Besides, when I am scoring regularly nobody has called me egotistical.”
