Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged France coach Raymond Domenech not to overplay Thierry Henry in this week’s friendly internationals.

France play Costa Rica in a friendly in Martinique on Wednesday, followed by next weekend’s encounter with Germany.

Henry has only just returned to action after a groin injury, and Wenger has asked Domenech to take it easy on his star striker.

“It’s in the interests of France to give him one-and-a-half games,” said Wenger.

“They only meet up tomorrow and then fly out to play the game in Martinique on Wednesday night. It would be very dangerous for him to play 90 minutes”

Henry scored twice for Arsenal at the weekend in their 3-1 win over Sunderland.
