Italy defender Gianluca Zambrotta has resumed full training and will be avaliable for selection for Saturday’s World Cup Group E game against the United States.
Zambrotta missed the Azzurri’s 2-0 win over Ghana on Monday due to a thigh injury but team doctor Enrico Castellacci said he was “fully avaliable” to coach Marcello Lippi.
Castellacci was also upbeat about midfielder Gennaro Gattuso who missed Monday’s game due to a thigh injury.
“We will carry out further tests on Gattuso on Wednesday but we are optimistic,” said Castellacci.
