Zenit St Petersburg have confirmed they would be interested in re-signing Andrey Arshavin from Arsenal.

The Russian joined the London club for around £15million in 2009 but has struggled this season, sparking rumours of a summer departure.

“Zenit’s doors are always open for Andrey,” said the club’s sporting director Igor Korneev told Talksport.

“If his situation at Arsenal does not improve and he’s not comfortable in London, we can study this issue in time for next season.”

Arshavin, 29, has scored six Premier League goals in 34 appearances this season and questioned his own happiness in England last month.
