Suspended FIFA official Amos Adamu is to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a bid to overturn his ban for seeking bribes during the World Cup bidding contests.
The Nigerian says he’s taking legal advice to challenge his three-year ban from football, which was upheld by FIFA’s appeals committee last Friday.
Adamu says he’s “extremely disappointed” by the verdict, which upheld a FIFA ethics committee ruling last November that Adamu sought bribes from British undercover reporters posing as lobbyists.
Adamu and FIFA vice president Reynald Temarii were barred from the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosting votes after a newspaper exposé revealed they were prepared to trade their votes in exchange for payments.
Temarii also is appealing to CAS against his one-year ban for breaking confidentiality rules.
