Holland Dick Advocaat has revealed he will snub future requests from Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson over the use of striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Advocaat was asked by Ferguson not to use Van Nistelrooy for longer than 45 minutes during last night’s friendly international against Argentina. The Manchester United was keen for his player to be fresh for Saturday’s FA Cup match with Arsenal.

Although Advocaat was happpy to comply, the Dutch coach was disappointed that Ferguson did not make the same request to Marcelo Bielsa over the use of fellow Manchester United player of Juan Sebastian Veron.

“I was curious before the match to see whether Veron would also only play for one half and he actually played for a lot longer,” said Advocaat.

“This isn’t working. Veron also plays for Manchester (United) and is just as busy as van Nistelrooy.

“For the moment, I won’t listen to Ferguson anymore. If he plays well next time, I will not change him.”
