Nigerian international Julius Aghahowa has not joined up with his fellow squad members in Portugal preparing for the African Nations Cup over a row over airline seats.

The striker had been booked to fly economy class, but the striker said he prefers to fly business class.

He told Reuters in Lagos: “I have not travelled economy ticket before, so why now?”

The Shakhtar Donetsk forward added: “I told the Nigerian Football Association that I will pay my way to Faro but they turned down my request. I have told them I will go back to Ukraine if it is not sorted out.”

Nigeria are in arguably the toughest group for the tournament, Group D with Benin and previous champions Morocco and South Africa.
