Newcastle United have confirmed that midfielder Geremi has joined Turkish side Ankaragucu on an 18-month deal.
The Cameroon international travelled to Turkey last month and was paraded in front of Ankaragucu fans only for Newcastle to deny a deal had been struck. However, Newcastle have now confirmed that a deal has been agreed.
The former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Middlesbrough man arrived at St James’ during the summer of 2007, but he has struggled to make an impression this season and Newcastle have therefore allowed a high earner on the wage bill to leave.
