Osvaldo Ardiles has quit as coach of Argentine side Huracan after just 12 matches in charge.

Ardiles announced his resignation immediately after the 2-1 win over Velez Sarsfield in their final game of the Apertura championship.

“I’m leaving and there’s no turning back,” the 1978 World Cup winner said after the game.

Ardiles blamed his detriorating relationship with club president Carlos Babington for his departure.

“He never trusted me,” said Ardiles, who left his previous job at Israeli Premier League side Beitar Jerusalem last year after only five months.

Huracan won six, drew three and lost three games under the former Argentinina international and finished sixth in the Apertura championship on their return to the top flight.
