Everton should have little trouble seeing off Brann after taking a 2-0 lead to Goodison this Thursday in the UEFA Cup.

Arsenal defender Kolo Toure suffered a calf strain during last night’s goalless draw with Milan and will be out of action for several weeks.

The Ivory Coast defender, 26, limped off just seven minutes into the 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium and boss Arsene Wenger blamed it on Toure’s participation at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“Kolo has a calf injury and from what I can see he will be out for at least three to four weeks,” he said.

“The injury was a consequence of the African Nations Cup.”

Toure was part of the Ivory Coast squad that finished fourth in the tournament in Ghana.

He will now miss the return leg in Milan on 4 March as well as several crucial Premier League matches.
