Brescia president Luigi Corioni claimed that Roberto Baggio could still be playing for his club for another five years after the former Italian international agreed a two-season contract extention.
“I am sure he can go on for another four or five years,” he said. “But whatever happens, we have agreed he will stay on as a Brescia director.”
Corioni confirmed that the 35-year-old legend of Italian football would sign his new deal at the weekend.
“He is staying here. He has agreed a two year-contract and the news will be official on Sunday,” Corioni added.
Only last spring, the forward was on the verge of quitting the game after suffering cruciate ligament damage, but appears to have rediscovered his appetite for the game despite missing out on the World Cup finals.
