Barcelona have confirmed that they are close to completing deals for Demetrio Albertini and Maxi Lopez.
Coach Frank Rijkaard has been looking to strengthen his squad after a string of serious injuries in the first half of the season.
Veteran midfielder Albertini will arrive from Brescia on a short-term deal, while Lopez will cost in the region of €5.5 million from River Plate.
“The two options are very advanced and there is a chance for them to be closed,” Barca’s director of sport Txiki Beguiristain stated.
“We don’t have definitive agreements though, we have to respect the players and their clubs.
“We have to be prepared: if we don’t get them, we have to have other options.”
