Barcelona sport director Txiki Beguiristain has denied reports that the club is considering a move for Bayern Munich striker Roy Makaay.

Following the long-term injury to Samuel Eto’o, there had been reports that Barcelona were considering making a move for Makaay, but the club claim they will not be entering the transfer market.

“Barca will not be looking for any new players now. We are more than happy with the ones we already have,” he commented on Monday.

Eto’o will be out of action for up to six months after he tore a meniscus in his right knee during Barcelona’s Champions League draw with Werder Bremen last week.
